Local area…Places to go and things to do

The Rose & Crown is situated in the charming village of Snettisham, on the edge of the Wash and a short drive from the glorious North Norfolk beaches, perfect for walks, children, sandcastles and swimming, and dog heaven.

Snettisham Beach, just down the road, is the RSPB‘s most important East coast reserve. Through the winter thousands of migrating birds flock to Snettisham Beach to feed on the salt flats, then rise as one on the incoming tide,  and huge ‘V’ formations of geese fly over The Rose & Crown, morning and evening. Amazing sights, however much or little you know about birds. All are perfect followed by a delicious, warming R&C Breakfast.

See RSPB website for events through the year.

We welcome cyclists at The Rose & Crown and are happy to look after your luggage if you’re doing a longer ride. The National Cycle Route number 1 runs through the village and the Peddar’s Way passes close by. Bikes can be rented from Wheel Travel.
