“…a rare beast: a thriving local pub with contemporary rooms and great food”

Eating
We love food…
The same delicious menu is served throughout The R&C. The menu changes regularly, reflecting the seasons, and the wonderful produce of the area.
As far as possible all our ingredients are sourced locally, making full use of the wonderful produce of the area in season: mussels, oysters and samphire from Brancaster, asparagus and strawberries from local farmers, herbs from the allotments of Snettisham and game from the gentlemen in wellies in the back bar!
On Sundays we offer a traditional roast lunch from 12 noon until the roasts runs out, in addition to our normal menu.
We welcome children to The Rose & Crown, and offer a top quality children’s menu, with all dishes cooked from fresh.
We do tend to get very busy so please book in advance by contacting our Reception to reserve a table.
Drinking
and we quite like a drink too!
Built in the 14th century to cater for the builders working on St. Mary’s church up the road, The R&C has been looking after thirsty drinkers for around 700 years!
The Rose & Crown is still a village local drinking pub at heart. We take great pride in our wines and in our ales, which include Adnams, Woodforde’s Wherry, London Pride plus a regularly changing guest ale.
We also offer a number of low alcohol beers and wines, as well as numerous other interesting non-alcoholic drinks.
On a sunny day there is no better place to enjoy a jug of Pimm’s with friends than in our lovely walled garden, in the winter settle down with a pint by one of our blazing open log fires.

Sunrise breakfasts at The R&C
From late summer onwards, wading birds come to Snettisham Beach for the winter. On the biggest tides, tens of thousands take flight as the incoming tide pushes them from the mudflats.

We are thrilled to have been named Editor’s Choice Pub with Rooms by the 2024 edition of The Good Hotel Guide. We think our rooms are the prettiest and most comfortable, and so, obviously does The GHG.
