“…a rare beast: a thriving local pub with contemporary rooms and great food”
We love food…
…and we are delighted to be The Good Pub Guide’s Norfolk Dining Pub of the Year 2020
The same delicious menu is served throughout The R&C. The menu changes regularly, reflecting the seasons, and is supplemented by a number of daily special dishes. Take a look at our sample main menu and sample pudding menu.
As far as possible all our ingredients are sourced locally, making full use of the wonderful produce of the area in season: mussels, oysters and samphire from Brancaster, asparagus and strawberries from local farmers, herbs from the allotments of Snettisham and game from the gentlemen in wellies in the back bar!
Teas, coffees and excellent cakes are available all day.
Need a night off from cooking? We are happy to offer a number of dishes on the menu as takeaways.
On Sundays we offer a terrific traditional roast lunch from 12 noon until the roasts runs out, £15.00 and £5.75 for children.
The Rose & Crown is famous for its Great British Breakfast. Take a look at our sample Breakfast menu.
We welcome children to The Rose & Crown with open arms, and offer a top quality children’s menu, with all dishes cooked from fresh. Click here to see our sample children’s menu.
We do tend to get very busy so please book in advance by contacting our Reception to reserve a table. We are happy to accommodate larger parties.
and we quite like a drink too!
Built in the 14th century to cater for the builders working on St. Mary’s church up the road, The R&C has been looking after thirsty drinkers for around 700 years!
The Rose & Crown is still a village local drinking pub at heart. We take great pride in our ales, which include Adnams, Woodforde’s Wherry, London Pride plus a regularly changing guest ale.
We have an excellent wine list and offer a large number of wines by the glass.
We also offer a number of low alcohol beers and wines, as well as numerous other interesting non-alcoholic drinks.
On a sunny day there is no better place to enjoy a jug of Pimm’s with friends than in our lovely walled garden, in the winter settle down with a pint by one of our blazing open log fires.
Take a look at what’s happening at Snettisham Beach. The RSPB reserve at Snettisham has wildlife observation hides which give panoramic views across the saline lagoons, salt marsh and the vast expanse of mudflats that make up The Wash.
We are delighted that the 2020 Good Hotel Guide has named The Rose & Crown Editor’s Choice Pub with Rooms. Well done The Rose & Crown team!
The Good Pub Guide has awarded The Rose & Crown Norfolk Dining Pub of the Year. We are thrilled and would like to congratulate all of the team at The Rose & Crown, Snettisham.
